What is it?
SSIP is the collective name given to a group of assessment bodies that award safety accreditation certification including CHAS, Safecontractor, SMAS and so on. An auditor assesses your safety management systems based on evidence you submit. Note that this is an assessment made by a experienced safety professional and not a simple application, No two businesses or assessments are the same.
Why get it?
Reasons you might want to apply for safety accreditation may include reassuring yourself that your safety documents have been checked by a third party auditor. Standing out to win larger projects, work with corporate clients and government contracts or maybe advertise your conscientious approach to the world and avoid client safety questionnaires.
Why Marksafety?
Many SSIP support providers offer minimal involvement from you, fixed costs and/or a speedy turnaround. We do not believe anyone can guarantee these things or indeed get certification for you! We aim to be transparent simply offering experience, knowledge and tools to support you progressing your SSIP Accreditation and maintain focus.
How does it work?
Step 1. An initial consultation will ensure you understand the process, costs and requirements. If you are happy to proceed simply apply for your SSIP and forward log-in details to us.
Step 2. We will provide a gap analysis / action plan with document templates where possible. We will be on hand to advise you and answer general questions while you collate evidence.
Step 3. Once all evidence is together forward it to us. We will check, upload and submit this on your behalf. If there is additional evidence required by your assessor we will repeat step 2 and 3.
How long will it take?
This depends on how fast you can collate required evidence. Typically first time applications are submitted for assessment within four weeks.
How much will it cost?
This depends on the size of your business and type of assessment you apply for. Our fixed fee support starts at £495 and we can quote for any additional work or training separably should this be needed.
